I’m sure by now everyone has heard about the fire that struck the Central New York Roller Derby League out of the Utica area. They as well as the men’s Quadfathers lost their practice space and all of their gear and equipment. The outpouring of kind words and the unbelievable amount of support they are receiving is beyond what anyone could ask for.
While reading the posts and news articles about the fire brings tears to my eyes, the posts and comments showing support have created tears of happiness and pride. I have pride in not only my local community but the community abroad. Derby and non derby folks have been opening up their hearts, practice spaces, and wallets. This support has come from our local community, our Northern neighbors, from across the ocean, and everyone in between.
So thank you to everyone who is showing their support for my community. For those of you who would like to show your support please visit their website to find out how. Thank you again.
